Living and studying abroad is often the most challenging and rewarding experience of a young person’s life. As a parent, you are naturally excited that your son or daughter will have the opportunity for tremendous academic and personal growth, and at the same time we realize you also have concerns and questions about the challenges ahead.
At Syracuse University Abroad, our primary focus is the safety and well-being of the whole student. We have nearly 50 years’ experience preparing students to succeed as engaged participants in their host culture. Our staff at home and abroad are proactive in meeting the new challenges of a complex and changing world.
Your student’s journey begins here with a roadmap for Accepted Students. It continues with information updates and pre-departure orientation sessions in various U.S. cities, where students and parents can meet our staff. When your student arrives abroad, our bi-cultural staff and faculty at SU centers conduct an extensive orientation to the host city and the academic program. Throughout the overseas experience, your student will have the support needed to find his or her place in the world.
